The Heat were one jumper away from making the Finals last summer, and that was with Udonis Haslem sidelined due to injury. If Udonis is available and ready for the 2023 playoffs, the conversation tilts.

Erik Spoelstra developed an aversion to fielding Haslem in the Heat’s opening five. While it’s understandable that Spo appreciates Udonis’ usage off the bench, that role has mostly been supplanted by Tyler Herro. With P.J. Tucker in Philly, Haslem might enter the opening intros again.
HERRO BALL
Haslem’s return makes Herro not only superfluous, but expendable. September’s trade market just got a lot more interesting.

Of course, with Haslem signed, the Heat and Nets may not wait until September to get something done.
