This date in playoff history: Bobby Hansen and a Bulls title

B.J. Armstrong’s airball fell short, just before the end of the third quarter, Chicago coach Phil Jackson had tried a number of lineup combinations in the Finals and Portland appeared to have a long and kinda smartass answer for each one of them. The reserve guard’s miss left the Bulls similarly smarting, gnashing at each other as the defending champions walked to the bench, Armstrong hardly ran much of a play before his chuck and it left Chicago with a major disadvantage.
