This summer wasn’t handing the Lakers any answers, if Los Angeles simply set out to acquire the best players regardless of fit, fine, this is where Lonnie Walker IV works. He can’t stop anyone from scoring but there is talent and drive in him, he is creative and the Lakers need someone to break up the muck. Juan Toscano-Anderson helps with a little of that as well, anyone with a little athleticism.
Troy Brown Jr. probably has to get all the way to age 28 to get any good, the (nearly) 23-year old improved to 35 percent from behind the arc last year but he stopped defending and passing in a contract year.
LeBron James will make new signee Thomas Bryant look like an All-Star for stretches in 2022-23, and the rest of the time Thomas Bryant will make Thomas Bryant look like Thomas Bryant.
