UTAH JAZZ
Last season, won a bunch to begin but we can’t have that, not on Danny Ainge’s brainscan plan. The Jazz (26-26, then 5-25) tanked for the second season in a row, right down to the uniform design.
Coach: Will Hardy
C: Walker Kessler — blocks nearly 10 percent of the shots taken when he’s on the floor, the second-best rate in the league, but the other 90 percent is still up for consideration. Dunks a lot, which has to be a rush. Especially at that altitude.
PF: Taylor Hendricks — 2023 lottery pick was El Stinko defensively last season but he can already hit the NBA three, he rebounds and doesn’t turn 21 for a month.
F: Lauri Markkanen — had as many dunks (77) as turnovers last season. In terms of normal stats, he averaged just over 23 points and eight boards, 40 percent from deep.
SG: Collin Sexton — dragged in and out of the lineup again but averaged 19 points and five assists.
PG: Keyonte George — moved into the starting lineup when it was time to tank and was GFAR, good for a rookie, an acronym which will not catch on. Bad efficiency, but a 20-year old scoring 13 a game in the NBA in those terrible uniforms remains remarkable.
Brice Sensabaugh averaged 7.5 points per game as a 20-year old rookie, on even dimmer efficiency, less remarkable, but still “remarkable” as I’m remarking upon it right now among many other things to remark upon.
Like that name of his, Brice Sensabaugh, and how it ranked 14th on the PGA Money List in 2019.
