The previews continue, first there was the Northwest, now this.
GOLDEN STATE
C: Kevon Looney — all you’d want in a center and seemingly improving, scoring easier and turning the ball over fewer times, younger than Andrew Wiggins, won’t turn 28 until February.
SF: Andrew Wiggins — cranked up to 40 percent from deep last season but I beg he retains his nerve for outrageous tip-dunks:
Wiggins turned the ball over but 48 times in 1190 minutes last season, the Warriors missed his defense and are championship contenders when he suits.
SG: Klay Thompson — Point Klay didn’t materialize last season but he roll out 43/41/88 and turn the ball over only 123 times in 69 games. Led league in three-point makes.
PG: Chris Paul — the Warriors don’t need Chris Paul, he’ll have to adapt, and eventually release himself within Steve Kerr’s sets. Pick and rolling is nice but it never tricks anyone past the second round.
PG: Stephen Curry — one player for one game to win 2023-24? Still Steph.
