There is a lot lost to the last century when recalling the Knicks and Pacers’ NBA rivalry.

Only limited images exist of Reggie Miller’s bandana, the one which inspired the Pacers’ mascot Boomer to wear his own durag during performances. No taped clips of Miller talking smack from the postgame podium to Patrick Ewing — "All that matters at the end is the last shot. Right, Patrick?" — after Ew missed a potential game-tying jumper at the buzzer in Game 2 of the 1999 Eastern finals. Miller hit two free throws to win it, Ewing bricked a jumper and waylaid his Achilles in the process, knocking the Knick center out of the rest of the series, postseason. Miller didn’t know Ewing’s diagnosis at the time of his remark.

What I need a clip of, and can never find, is David Letterman yelling over the NBA playoffs at Paul Shaffer and/or Dave’s guest, the studio audience, and CBS’ at-home viewers.

Yelling about his Pacers, and their chances against the Knicks.

They’re just farmboys, Paul! Poor farmboys!
