(Nevermore Podcast: the podcast about Queen.)

The Cavs downed Indiana on Sunday, halting a three-game skid, winnable contests, all. Everyone is hurt, or out, but Kevin Love stepped up. Kevin Love is the Comeback Player of the Year.

They don’t make that award anymore, but they should and then give it to Kevin Love (14 and seven boards in 21 minutes a game, 45/43/91).

The guy spent the last few seasons in a rage, now look at how things flow:

Love (2.1 assists) is even happy playing next to Lauri Markkanen. Setting Markkanen up with those open threes that he misses, feeding him the little hook shots Lauri biffs.

The Cavs are down Ricky Rubio, Collin Sexton, Darius Garland (protocols) but still five games over .500, still happy.

Coach J.B. Bickerstaff reminded us before Sunday’s game that “there’s a lot going on,” the Rubio hangover lingers, yet the Cavs tell us Love led NBA reserves in rebounds and points and threes made in December and owns no reason to stop:

“He knows what we’re missing right now,” Bickerstaff said. You think about the point production that’s out for us. There’s a missing link there of offensive production.”

It’s not over. Isaac Okoro (elbow) took a hit on Sunday and Rajon Rondo’s addition won’t change much in Cleveland, there’s a reason Rajon Rondo was traded for Denzel Valentine, Rajon Rondo sucks.
